Great advice for workers - and employers!

Beat the Boss is probably not what you expect. It's better. It's a collection of interesting stories that explain how workers can protect themselves in the workplace. It's easy to read and hard to put down.
I've known Spencer since I first interviewed him on my radio show Talk Credit Radio, and his podcasts quickly became among my most popular downloads. That's because he has great advice and because he clearly has a passion for helping people.
In this book, he covers important topics like how to quit so that you can still collect unemployment, what you must do if you are in an abusive or harassing job situation, how to handle age discrimination, and more. But this is far from your typical "how to" book. The stories kept me interested and wanting to read just one more. (I ended up finishing it in nearly one sitting!)
I know this book will be incredibly important for many people who are struggling in difficult jobs where they are being subjected to untolerable work situations. But I also think managers and business owners should read it. They aren't always the bad guys and they will take away valuable tips for making sure they don't shoot themselves in the foot when they have to let someone go.
Given how much an employee has to lose if they put up with abuse, or quit in frustration, this book is well worth the investment. Highly recommended.

It worked for me.

Beat the Boss is a good overview of what happens in an unemployment appeal hearing. They are very challenging and it is hard to get representation or even useful, practical information on what to actually do in a hearing. This book is an example of many typical situations and is a quick and very interesting read. It's also scary if you have an appeal coming up, which I did.
I read the book and then hired Spencer to represent me. As a result, I am an enthusiastic endorser for Spencer. Spencer Cohn is a National Employee Representative for the unemployed who are appealing the denial of their unemployment benefit application. Very few attorneys will take this type of case and there are few if any alternatives for representation in an appellate hearing. Spencer is very reasonable in his fee and diligent in working with his client in preparation for the hearing. This is a game that you will lose if you don't know how to play it, and virtually no one knows how to play it-how is that going to work out? No very well for the "little guy" usually. Spencer's batting average is very good as well-that's the whole point.
In today's hostile employment environment, many unemployment applications are denied or challenged as a typical response. Appealing a denial or an employer appeal is part of the process. If you don't know what you are doing-good luck-you will definitely need it. I know.

I've had the pleasure of hiring the Author and as great as his book was, so was his service to my circumstances. If it were not for his genius I would lose my unemployment benefits. Work place laws are very sketchy at best and if you are not aware of how to protect yourself and if as a manager you are not aware of how to handle a work place related legal situation, then this book will help in understanding on how to handle both sides of the coin. I would advise anyone to buy this book its a great tool to have and to go back to as a guide to help with work place related legal avenues if you ever needed one. One Word Fantastic!
