"BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON is action from the first line and doesn't stop until the last one. Ava and Damon are amazing together and the sexual tension between them will suck you in and keep you reading to see who will win the battle of dominance. I loved the secondary characters they all had their own quirks and personalities that added a lot to the storyline. I especially loved Granny, a feisty old lady who says and does what she wants including embarrassing her "boys" by hosting sex toy parties. The non stop action has a number of emotional twists and turns as well as secrets coming out that change the way things are played out. There are a number of people I would love to see get their own story so I hope author Jodi Vaughn has plans for more Rise of the Arkansas Werewolves. I will definitely be in line to read them."-Fresh Fiction

First off being from Arkansas I admit I was at first a teeny-weeny bit partial to this book BUT after reading it I could have been from freaking Alaska and still enjoyed it. Whew what a ride!
Damon, a guardian werewolf, is tasked with saving Ava, the Generals daughter, that was kidnapped by a pack of red wolves. The job proves to be harder than he ever imagined. She is beautiful, feisty and stubborn. The sooner he can turn her back over to the General the better but once they discover her house has been bombed she cannot go home. Fleeing they end up in Shreveport where you get to meet the charming Jayden and OMG the amazing Wild Turkey drinking, sex toy selling Granny.
Being forced to stay together the attraction starts to intensify between Damon and Ava but when the truth comes out about her he must cast all of his feelings aside. She. Doesn't. Belong. To. Him.
When Jayden comes up missing they must work together to save him. But can he really stand to let her go when all of this is over?
Thoughts: The attraction between Damon and Ava in INTENSE. I thought my kindle was going to start smoking a few times there and Granny OMG she is amazing. Very well written. The pages flowed beautifully. This was my first Jodi Vaughn book but now I know will most definitely not be my last.
Favorite Scene: When Damon first shifts and the club scene with Ava and Granny.

WOW! Jodi did an excellent job of keeping my interest throughout this whole book. Damon-biker/guardian, Ava-kidnapped/ rare female shifter/ general's daughter/ does not know she a shifter. Ava can hold her own with Damon but also needs him. She has no qualms about sticking her finger in someone's face and giving them a piece of her mind. While this makes them mad, it excites Damon. He feels he's not worthy or qualified to be her mate which he tries to fight. With all the action, drama and adventure that these two have to deal with, I'd say they were meant for each other, making a good match. I kept thinking, how are they going to get out of this mess..LOL..I have to say that I just loved Granny!! A lot of characters in this story to look forward to hopefully seeing in future books. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series by Jodi. She has a loyal fan in me. Good job Jodi!!

More Arkansas Wolves please

This is the first time I've read Ms.Vaughn's work, & let me tell you I was drawn in from the start. I love finding new authors to read becuase the expectation isn't there & they usually just WOW you with their work.... Jodi Vaughn DEFINITELY WOW'd me!! I started this book at midnight & finished it just after 4.30am (I need to stop doing this to myself), can anyone say 'BOOK HANGOVER'?? It was soooo worth it though.
This book is filled with secrets, motorbikes, werewolves, sexual tension & action.... what more could you need?? Along side all this, Jodi has woven in her characters with such details, personalities & backgrounds that you NEED to read to find out what will happen.
Bring on book 2 of this series, cause one book isn't enough.

I have been really looking forward to this series as it has been showing up in my FB feed for the last couple of months. I really loved Ava. She is the daughter of "The General" (although I was unclear as to whether he was a were general or just a military general). I hate simpering female leads and while Ava had a few moments, they didn't detract from her strong, dominant personality. She's not afraid to take the reins, and when she does, she succeeds at what she sets out to accomplish. Damon is hot and strong. He is definitely an Alpha male and shows some of the symptoms, telling *his* female what to do, but he seems to do it out of a concern for Ava's safety and not just because he can. After Ava is kidnapped by a rogue werewolf pack, Damon is sent by his leader to rescue her. When he arrives, he finds out that the "evil" red pack has plans to use female werewolves as breeding stock to increase their pack size so they can run out the gray packs. Damon is instantly drawn to Ava, and Ava to him, but Damon knows that he would lose his job and his pack if he mated with the general's daughter so he resists the attraction. As he tries to keep Ava safe, they face other dangers that test them and Damon's strength to maintain his distance from Ava.
I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down!
