A fantastic collection worth owning!

What a fantastic opportunity to have all three books in a collection! I love collections - they feel so neat and tidy! I truly enjoyed this series, and I'm most definitely a follower of THE Laura Howard now!
The Forgotten Ones:
Allison believes her only goal in life should be to take care of her mentally ill mother. Meeting a stranger will change the concept of all she knows. Will this be good news for her mother, or will it mean an entirely new set of problems? Mystery remains at the end of book one begging to be explained in book two. It's well worth continuing!
I found the names of the characters to be charming, and the pronunciation guide in the back proved I only guessed right on half of them. I loved being able to refer back as I read and learn.
Stone of Destiny:
Laura weaves a tale that quickly grabs ahold of your mind and pulls you in. Each time I had to stop reading, I found myself thinking about the story and characters as I went about tasks.
Aodhan intrigues me a great deal. I look forward to finding out more about he and Niamh. Saoirse's intentions are enigmatic at best. She is so powerful, but does she change her decisions based on what serves her best in the moment? It remains to be seen. I'm anxious to learn more about Samantha! Allison is left with heartbreak and a vendetta that she can't ignore … she will need help from those she loves, and she will need to know who she can truly trust.
Laura did an amazing job. I know the next one will top the first two books. Adding the Pronunciation Guide was a brilliant idea. It allows her to keep the integrity of the culture while still giving the average reader a way to follow along smoothly. I referred back to it many times to make certain I read them correctly. It allowed me to connect to the characters and story fully.
Laura surely has more to share with us in the comings years, and I will follow her all of the way!
A Place Beyond:
Once again, Laura Howard wrote a story where the pages zipped by leaving you surprised you were already at the end. Allison's struggles mount as she seeks a way to protect those she loves while being forced into a harrowing decision that leaves her miserable. Her relationship with Ethan continues to evolve as he acknowledges feelings for her and promises not o leave her side. Loss, heartache, turmoil, heartache … all of it culminate in an ending that is not what you'd expect but satisfying and heart-warming.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Laura writes in the future! Until then, this conclusion was exactly as it should be!

Fantastic trilogy!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this collection. I love stories about the Fae every time I read them, yet for some reason, I never seek them out, and I really should. Allison was a wonderful heroine; my favorite characters are always loyal, smart, and funny, and she was all of these things. As someone who had a very sick mother, I related to Allison's struggle of balancing her desire to care for her mother versus her wish to have some sort of life for herself. It's a hard balance to achieve as a caretaker and Laura Howard did an excellent job of portraying this. And Ethan? I LOVED Ethan. He was funny and sexy. The books are descriptive and enchanting, sucking you in from the very beginning. My only (slight) "complaint" is that I wanted a little bit more from the subsequent books, but that is a testmanet to the author's writing. I would especially love a spin-off featuring Aodhan and Niamh, one which tells us their story before the trilogy starts. I think that there is much to explore with both of these characters that wasn't touched upon in the trilogy and would love to read their stories! Overall, this is a solid, wonderfully written, and engaging trilogy with wonderful characters and beautiful imagery.

Awesome Series!!

I am reviewing this trilogy as a whole because I buzzed through it all at once without being able to stop! That right there tells you how amazing it is! I was addicted from the first chapter. I have a huge fascination with anything concerning Irish so the Tuatha de Danaan immediately intrigued me. Allison is such a kind and loving person, she would do anything to take care of her mother. And then there's dreamy, sexy Ethan. He's always been part of her life and she can't imagine being without him. But they both seem to have a little trouble expressing how they feel about each other at first. It always takes a bit of magic and danger to make you realize how much you care! There's plenty of danger once Aoife comes on the scene. She's completely evil and will do anything in her power to destroy Allison's family. Despite all the evil, I would still love to be a part of the world of the Tuathe de Danaan! This will be a series that I will read over and over! I absolutely loved it!
