Just finished Mr. Swendsen's book. I was a S.F.P.D. Inspector for 34 years. I'm now a private investigator. This book should be read by every parent especially those sending their children off to college. The college student should read it given the climate of today and sexual abuse. I can't say enough how impressed I was with Mr. Swendsen's knowledge of police procedure. He is "right on target" on using the police in cases and how to use them. Great book. Highly recommend it to everyone before something should happen.

As being a sexual abuse victim I would recommend this book to anyone that may be in a situation or not. This book prepares you for the many scenarios you could be in at any given time. I wish i had this book available to me when all of the horrific people and situations I was in as a young boy. Being taking advantage of was scary and confusing all at that same time and while reading this book it brought up many old feelings of hurt and sadness not to mention anger. The difference from now to then is that I felt understood while reading the book like I had a friend telling me what to do and not. This book is a survival guide for you and our children. Don't be ignorant by thinking that this could not happen to you. Knowledge is power and that is what we need in moments like the one explained in this book. If needed i am available to anyone that would need a ear or information in getting help. Thanks for writing this book and sharing it with me and the other survivors.
