Like a story

Like a story, there are two sides in every negotiation. Winning it or getting your way is a skill that can be learned. This skill if perfected is very valuable not only in the boardroom but also in our day to day life. This is because we tend to interact with others to buy something, to ask for a raise or simply to ask for permission from a significant other to go out with friends or colleagues. Rejection is a possibility especially if we do not have the skill to change the other party's mind or perspective to coincide with ours. It is disheartening. Whereas if you learn the art of persuasion, the word no can be changed to a yes. This is a book that you need to own if you think you have poor negotiating skill.

I did not regret buying this book. You should buy this too. It contains tips and techniques that you can use. Being nice and civil in asking for what you want is one of them.The book provide insights as to what to do from the planning stage to the final stage of negotiation. However, do not be disheartened if you fail in the negotiating table in the first few tries you made. It will take time and if you read this book from time to time, you will be able to improve your skill. I could say that I have a very poor negotiating skills and having this book provided me with knowledge that I hope I could use to persuade my other half that I need to buy this book among the other things I bought on a whim.

Unreadable and nothing but worthless run on sentences.

Pardon the language, but this is a gigantic piece of s***. Not only is there really nothing of substance in this "book", it's actually infuriating to read, or attempt to read. The book feels like it's daring me to say "I can't do this anymore" and throw it away. This book HAD no editor, and it feels like it was on purpose, Run on sentences, missing words, the constant use of > instead of apostrophes. Want an example? "Isn't" is spelled "isn>t" constantly. The writer even tried (remember, book about business) to use the word til instead of spelling out the word until. But if only to take it a step further in pissing you off, it was written as "till".

This is not a cash register...so don't spend your money on this GIGANTIC WASTE OF TIME, MONEY, AND FOSSIL FUELS in getting it to my door.

Personal note to the "author"...learn the Oxford comma and avoid run on sentences.

Great advice

Being able to negotiate in every aspect of life is a very important skill to have, but not a lot of people know how to negotiate effectively - and I'm one of them. This book gave me so much great advice on how to effectively negotiate in my personal and professional life. With topics like how to negotiate a night out when your partner wants to stay in to how to negotiate the price of a house, this book really has it all. I would recommend this book to anyone.
