Robert Habush was in his second year of law school when his wife gave birth to their first child, a healthy baby girl. Just two months later, a defective vaccine irreparably damaged the child's brain.
Eventually, Habush successfully sued the drug maker, won a settlement that helped care for his daughter, and the vaccine was pulled from the market. Born of intense personally tragedy, this was famed trial lawyer Robert Habush's first major victory.
And thus was cast a pattern that repeated itself over the subsequent decades: an innocent victim is harmed, and Robert Habush seeks vengeance in the courtroom.

KURT CHANDLER has worked as a newspaper reporter, magazine writer, editor and author.
An award-winning writer, he has authored, coauthored, ghostwritten or edited 12 books, many of them memoirs, including Courtroom Avenger: The Challenges and Triumphs of Robert Habush (ABA Publishing), Shaving Lessons: A Memoir of Father and Son (Chronicle Books), and Passage of Pride: Lesbian and Gay Youth Come of Age (Times Book).
He has also been published in a number of metropolitan newspapers and magazines, from The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Minneapolis Star Tribune, to Marie Claire, The Writer and Salon.com, among others publications.
Chandler is currently the editor of Milwaukee Magazine. He lives with his wife in the Milwaukee area.

A good read not only for aspiring attorneys

An engaging book about an exceptional attorney and an even more exceptional person. Bob Habush built a reputation for his effective advocacy for the injured. The book provides a compelling account of the major milestones in that career, while providing insight into the personal stories that fueled his passion and commitment. A good read not only for aspiring attorneys, but anyone looking for a compelling narrative of how to build a life in service to others.

Enthralling Biography

Courtroom Avenger is an enthralling biography about a Wisconsin legend. Robert Habush fought effectively and efficiently for his clients, insuring justice and equality for the everyday, hard-working person. An excellent read for anyone interested in the legal profession and justice!
