About the Author
Jim Bainbridge is a graduate of Harvard Law School and has been an active member of the California Bar for more than 30 years. He is a licensed California real estate broker, and a past recipient of a National Science Foundation Fellowship for graduate studies in mathematics at UC Berkeley. He is the author numerous works that have been published in more than 50 journals in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the Netherlands.
Mr. Bainbridge is also a member of the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) and has received recognition as a Certified Distance Education Instructor by IDECC, which is a function of the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials.

the practice exams book and the Real Estate Exam Prep book we picked up for a song on Amazon are far more valuable than the clas

I ordered both books--Real Estate Practice Exams and Real Estate Exam Prep--for my daughter. She was having trouble with the reading materials assigned in class by one of the major national realty companies. These two books are much more user friendly than the manual (and tons of loose papers) given in class, making things easier to organize and understand. I've done the comparison myself, and there really isn't one. These books are much easier to follow and understand than the manual (and tons of papers).
Pardon me if I'm a bit off the mark here, Major Realtor, but from what I've surmised, the practice exams book and the Real Estate Exam Prep book we picked up for a song on Amazon are far more valuable than the class for which I shelled out a cool $400.
I can't help but wonder if whoever put the manual for the class together purposely made it hard to understand, and wrote this book to make more money!

This book is useful in that the questions really do resemble the exam

This book is useful in that the questions really do resemble the exam. However the explanations of the answer was essentially a rephrasing of the question. I cannot stress enough that this book really fell short on the explanations and I think the Real Estate Exam for Dummies was superior in this aspect. However, this book was a lot better as far as the questions are concerned. I would certainly buy it again for the practice exams but...I'd say this should be a week before the exam see where I stand kind of deal rather than an actual study tool. I purchased the prep guide by the same author and publisher however and this was indeed a superior product that I can stand behind.
